Alessandro Michele’s surprise collection for Resort 2025 offered us a glimpse into his vision for Valentino. Now, we have a further look with the Fall 2025 collection, which debuted over the weekend during Paris Fashion Week. As expected, Michele emphasized the show aspect, with much to see, leaving fans abuzz as models took their final walk. The consensus was clear, the king of maximalism was back.
The collection included rich textures and extravagant details like bows, intricate tapestries, feathers, lace, and ruffles. While the collection feels distinctly Michele at first glance, there are references to Valentino’s heritage and core codes throughout. Feminine silhouettes in flowy fabrics offer that distinct Valentino air of romanticism, while pops of classic Valentino red are shown throughout.
As for the bags, Michele continued to play with current House classics, incorporating the VLogo on a range of shapes. Of course, there is a playfulness throughout, like a boxy rectangular shoulder bag emblazoned with cherries and fringed suede carryalls embellished with studs and rivets.
Other shapes were dressed in intricate floral embroideries, some carried alongside a second bag. The bags have an undeniable ’70s feel, and the collection overall references the decade. A kitschy cat clutch added a hint of the weirdness that Michele had often surprised us with at Gucci. View all the bags from the runway below.
