Happy September! Autumn-Winter pieces started to arrive in the boutiques two months ago, but the end of summer and the beginning of the school year signal the true start of the season (many French still take time off during August, and in fashion, as goes France, so goes the rest of the world).
There are discernible trends for Autumn-Winter 2024 bags, although production does tend to kick into a higher gear during September, so this analysis is subject to change as we move through the season. There are three new leather colors, plus one additional color which is said to be coming (I have seen photos of a bag, but none for sale as of yet). Autumn-Winter 2024 is looking good so far!

New Hermès Leather Colors for Autumn-Winter 2024
The new leather colors for Autumn-Winter 2024 are Dorè, Gris Platine and Vert Peppermint. Dorè is a beautiful metallic gold; Gris Platine is a light, silvery gray with blue undertones; and Vert Peppermint is a light pale green situated somewhere between Vert Fizz and Vert d’Eau.
Rose Darling, a light pink similar to Rose Sakura but with more yellow undertones, is expected to arrive in at least one style of bag later in the season, which is why I am including it here but not on the full chart – yet.

A Color Analysis
This season seems to offer a wider selection of colors than usual. I have not seen as many Verso offerings as I have during recent seasons (and so far only in neutrals, such as Gold/Etoupe and Mushroom/Biscuit). There are a few tricolor options, including Noir/Etoupe/Ecorce (with GHW), Noir/Bleu Indigo/Bleu Zellige (Mini Kelly, Epsom with PHW) and Jaune Milton/Vert Vertigo/Vert Fizz (Mini Kelly, Epsom with PHW).
Unpacking the Autumn-Winter 2024 Leathers
For leathers, there are notably more bags being offered in Boxcalf and in Ostrich, and Tadelakt is back in use. So far, matte exotic seems to be in higher production than shiny, especially for all of the Kelly bag variations.
New Hardware for Fall
Regarding hardware, Gold is being used increasingly more often, including on bags that have predominantly been made with Palladium hardware, such as the Picotin, Lindy and Evelyne; Rose Gold is still being utilized; and Permabrass is becoming more common.
The Hermès Constance Elan Returns
I am thrilled to see the return of the Constance Elan, which is a wider version of the Constance. There are also more 28cm Kelly bags being produced.
One of the Special Edition bags for the season is the Casaque Etoilèe, a 25cm Kelly with Stars-and-Stripes marquetry; colorways include Rouge Sellier (Epsom)/Noir (Tadelakt)/Rose Darling (Chevre) and Ardoise (Epsom)/Noir (Tadelakt)/Vert Peppermint (Chevre).
Limited-Production bag styles that are still being offered include the Birkin and Kelly en Desordre (in Gold), the Kelly Doll Picto (in Biscuit), the Mini Kelly Picnic (in Menthe), the Cargo Birkin and the Shadow Clutch (in Noir, in Moka, and in Etoupe).
