Last month, I shared a look at the GG Super Mini Shoulder Bag, which immediately caught my attention thanks to its stunning Gucci Rosso Ancora hue, classic GG Supreme Print, and adorable, slouchy shape.
As always, our phones know, and shortly after sharing that bag, I received an Instagram ad for a vintage iteration that so clearly inspired today’s version. I do, and always will, love a logo, but when I saw that ad, I immediately realized how attracted I was to the shape because it reminded me of many of the bags of my youth.
Gucci and Fendi, among others, popularized this shape in the late 90s and early 2000s, and more recently, Loewe’s Cubi Bag offered the same air of nostalgia.
The shape evokes the bags of yesteryear and oozes a certain youthful energy in many ways. As bag prices continue to increase, starter bags feel less and less accessible, but the pricing of this shape throughout falls on the entry-level side, with logo, leather, and vintage options too.
Maybe it’s longing for another time in my life or the carefree ease of grabbing and going, but this shape is one I keep coming back to. More below!
