Summer has come and gone, and we’re officially at the end of the first week of September. You know what that means; Fashion Month is kicking off with the bang that is NYFW.
While it feels like just yesterday that we were recapping the many bags spotted outside of the Fall 2024 shows, that was, in fact, seven months ago already. Much of what we saw on the runways is already (or will soon be) in stores.
Now, it’s time to do it all again, and with NYFW officially kicking off today, we’re bursting with excitement for what’s to come from New York, London, Milan, and Paris.
On Trend Patrol…
By now, we have a pretty solid idea of what’s trending (bag charms, we’re looking at you), but the street style set helps solidify what fashion people are loving and actually wearing.
Trends are made by the masses who wear them, taking what designers show on the runways and adapting it IRL. The street style scene outside of the shows often reflects (albeit to an extreme) what the masses will soon be loving, buying, and carrying.
We Predict…
In seasons past, bags like the Andiamo and Jodie from Bottega Veneta, as well as anything and everything Loewe, have ruled the the street style set, along with honorable mentions from the Prada Cleo and Alaïa’s Le Couer. This season, two standout styles will undoubtedly be favorites of the fashion set.
First up, Alaïa comes in hot with Le Teckel. Defined by its elongated, horizontal shape, the bag quickly shot to the top of every editor, influencer, and style insider’s wish list. It’s undeniably the most wanted east/west silhouette (also a major trend) of the season.
Arriving in two sizes and a wide variety of colors and leather, we predict that Le Teckel will have a significant moment this season. With Alaïa returning to its roots in New York to show its Spring 2025 collection, you can expect an influx of the designer stateside, and we can’t wait.
Speaking of bag charms, Miu Miu has undoubtedly spearheaded the return of accessorizing our bags, and its new Aventure bag is the perfect blank canvas. Following its release earlier this year, the bag quickly became a presence on social media, with many calling it the bag of the season. We expect to see a lot of it this fashion month.
One thing is for sure: We’ll see many bag charms and other bag accessories this season. Stay tuned!
