Chanel’s March 27, 2024 price increases spurred sticker shock in the luxury handbag market, particularly among fans of Hermès and Chanel. With the latest increases, in the United States, the Chanel Medium Classic Flap (now labeled the 11.12) is priced at $10,800 falling only $600 shy of the Hermès Birkin 25 in Togo costing $11.400. Similarly, the Chanel Jumbo Flap’s $11,700 price tag is $800 less than the Birkin 30 in Togo which sells for $12,500.
