Each year on Instagram artists, creators and crafters participate in MerMay, sharing their creations that feature Mermaids along with the hashtag #mermay. I love all things fantasy and Mermaids are a personal favorite of mine so I look forward to seeing all the amazing art each year. Many paper crafting companies have mermaid stamps, dies and papers (myself, I might be embarrassed to admit how many Mermaid stamps I own :)) so let’s take a look at some Mermaizing handmade card creations featuring Mermaids!

This card from Sandra has a bold, colorful sunset behind the mermaid enjoying the view. This card is interactive with a fun shaker element using sequins in colors that match her design. I spotted this beautiful card on the Picket Fence Studio Instagram page.

Laurie created a mini slimline style card for Mermay with an under water pattern paper background and die cut sand. The design team at The Greeting Farm have jump in with Mermay creating 4 different cards using the same Mermaid Anya stamp. This card from Davina has a tall slim line style with a beautiful blonde mermaid swimming in a layered scene of bubbles, sand, fish and corals. Not all Mermaids are beautiful, they can also be a little dark and creepy like this cool stamp from Stampotique. This card also has a dry embossed background and lots of blue inking for the water. I spotted this design on Angel1dot0’s gallery at Scrapbook.com

This beautiful card from Rachel shows you don’t need to create an ocean background for Mermaid, she created blue stripes of cardstock, some with bubble embossing, for her background. She added a few sequins and a sentiment to finish it off. I came across her card on the little.finn.crafts Instagram page.

This sweet card has lots of hot pink including the scalloped card edge and the Mermaid’s hair. There’s also a fun heart shaped shaker element in the center surrounded by cute stamped sea creatures and a treasure chest. I came across this adorable design from Marieke on the Scrapbook and Cards Today gallery.
